REPLY TO GRANT on the subject of a COMMON STRATEGY

Hello again Grant.

As always, your words are a pleasure to read. It is wonderful to witness the determination and dedication with which you carry out your work. “World of Water” charity certainly deserves everyone’s support and the underlying principle will continue to occupy a place in my mind, as it has done for as long as I can remember.

“As we are” is most definitely no solution and there are millions, even billions, of us who are well aware of that fact. Unfortunately, too many people resign themselves to thinking that nothing can be done to improve the situation. I will never be one of them, as I KNOW that a lot can be done. The “solution” reveals itself to me moment by moment, as it also does to you. The truth will always reveal itself to those who pursue it so unwaveringly.

The apparent difference in our basic viewpoints is actually the result of nothing more than the frailty of language. As is the case with many of the tools at our disposal, it can be both helpful AND obstructive. Consequently, I will always favour TELEPATHY and I prefer to let a person’s ACTIONS reveal the thoughts being expressed.

Even though I like the idea of a COMMON STRATEGY, I most definitely share the view expressed by your words “As each of us search …………….. to do the greatest good for all.” (I would use the word “impossible” instead of “unlikely”.) This can be explained as follows.

I have observed the effectiveness of adopting a strategy which is NOT understood by all, but which is designed by someone whose knowledge and sincerity is respected and accepted by all. Rather than spend time trying to understand the reasoning behind the ideas involved, people can then simply follow the recommendations of the chosen leader. Some might call this concept a “benevolent dictatorship”. Whatever they call it, I have seen that it gets the job done and that is good enough for me. I have never been a supporter of the so-called “democratic” style of debating, arguing and discussing every tiny detail of the plan to such an extent and for such a long time that almost nothing ever actually gets done. I see THAT method of operating as merely a game designed by those in power in order to prevent effective action from being taken. It seems far more sensible to me to allow the leader in any given field to simply issue instructions. Everyone seems to agree with this idea of a common strategy in times of “agreed emergency” when ACTION needs to be taken urgently.

You must have noticed that few queries arrive here asking for suggestions on what to do to improve the quality of WATER-SUPPLIES WORLDWIDE. You are obviously the person who knows and cares about this matter more than anyone else here. Consequently, I am of the view that far more would be achieved if most other people abandoned their own unsuccessful strategies and followed YOUR recommendations (or those of someone else that you might care to suggest).

We could all ADOPT that strategy as the COMMON STRATEGY without wasting time arguing over whether the underlying reasoning was correct or otherwise.

You are well aware of the fact that I am not in the habit of asking someone to tell me what to do. However, I do recognise the fact that there ARE some people in the world whose knowledge and sincerity are sufficient to prompt me into breaking that habit occasionally.

This and my previous message are in no way intended to influence your method of operating. I am merely taking the opportunity to write something on a topic that is of great interest to me. I will always support your continuing efforts.

Whilst remaining very interested in the condition of the planet and the benefit of its population, I am happy with the thought that the universe will continue to cope, with or without either of them. They are only tiny specks in the infinity of existence.

That thought suits ME. It might not suit anyone else and I do not expect anyone else to understand it.

Best Wishes for ever.

COMMON STRATEGY. Comment to John from Grant

“As we are” – is no solution.

The ’solution’ is that which we find as we seek it.

As each of us search in a different manner and as we all process our findings in an equally individual way, it is unlikely that a common strategy will be born of all, understood by all and actioned by all.

It is the few who see the greatest picture that must drive their hearts to do the greatest good for all.

Where there is WATER, life,
where there is LIFE, hope
where there is HOPE, strength
where there is strength, – FUTURE

REPLY TO GRANT

Hello again Grant.

I could not agree more than I do with your main point. Care for other people and the environment come from the same area of awareness and they are actually inseparable. The one automatically leads to the other, whichever of the two we start with.

I also try to avoid aiming criticism at others, based on the same “plank and splinter” principle that you so aptly quote.

However, we can all do no more than our best and one man’s best efforts are sometimes equal to another man’s worst.

A fully-grown weakling can sincerely make a great effort when lifting what even a small child might be capable of easily lifting.

Is it not true that the mere mention of ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS will at least stimulate others to join the “debate” (if it can be termed as such)?

We are all a part of the “master plan” and we all have our own particular role to play. Consequently, we must all try our best to understand those whose intellect is not in the same condition as ours.

As I have written previously, I feel that our “movement” would benefit from a COMMON STRATEGY so that all your supporters could focus their efforts in the same direction, as our common “enemy” does.

In my view, that is the biggest hurdle to be overcome — the lack of a COMMON STRATEGY.

Best Wishes.

Whilst organisations throw words at other organisations, the problems within our World of Water do not lessen.

This reminds me of the saying :

Take the plank out of your own eye before you take the splinter out of another’s

The journey we all have to take is the one within us – the one that is pushed aside too often by matters of commerce and achievement.

The World will only improve when individuals do their best and care for the environment and their neighbours as they proceed.

GENERAL INFORMATION

A report just published by the environmental charity WWF-UK suggests that the government is actually doing very little to alleviate the problems of climate-change and damage to the environment.

REPLY TO GRANT

Hello again Grant.

I am sure that every thoughtful person on earth will support your efforts when your work receives sufficient publicity. I am merely one of those who have already chanced to find out about your “WORLD OF WATER”. Eventually, the whole world will be aware of what you are doing to try to educate us all. I can only add further words of support to what you have just written.

The word “business” should mean only that (i.e. being busy, doing something useful). The concept of “growth” (per se) is, by definition, unsustainable, as there is a point at which it becomes nothing but “growth for growth’s sake” (i.e. because it sounds good to the listening public). For example, should we continue building roads until the whole land-mass of the planet is covered by them? The answer is that we obviously should not. Similar reasoning can be applied to a vast number of industries.

To live without a struggle, all people have the same basic requirements. We all need sufficient food, shelter and clothing. Having provided those basics, who can claim to be suitably qualified to decide what we should do next (i.e. what businesses we should run)? Who can honestly say that he (or she) has the master plan? Would it not be a good idea for everyone to stop for a while and have a careful think about it?

Those in power have not yet even defined the aim of all this “developmental” activity. Consequently, they propagate the concept of “economic growth”, as if it is part of our “natural law” and, therefore, beyond question. What has this policy brought us, other than war, illness, pollution, traffic jams and the like? Do the benefits really outweigh the detriment? Would an unbiased viewer from another planet be able to comprehend the underlying purpose of all the so-called “economic activity” that takes place on earth? Are we all working long hours just for the sake of it? Can no-one think of anything more interesting to do?

There is no need to offer a prize in order to obtain the correct answers to those simple questions.

Until the whole world has been provided with SUPPLIES OF CLEAN WATER, how can anyone in power claim to be civilised and making progress?

Best Wishes.

The one and only J.
Thank you John for your support (By Grant)

Business must get down to business and the business of the day is ‘growth’ but we can’t allow “growth at any cost”.

I really don’t want the “truth” of the matter to hit the World in the eye or trip it up in anyway. The reality of our situation on this Planet is plain … this is our ONE shared home.

We break its balance and we all get it in the neck no matter what our belief systems or attitudes may be.

I do not want “time to tell”. I have no wish to “wait and see what happens” whilst I can see what it happening NOW.

Eyes fully open we’ll go forward… eyes partially closed, we’ll trip up
REPLY TO GRANT

Hello again Grant.

Breaking the rules of conformity has proved to be necessary over the years in man’s desire to make real progress. As you suggest, it always makes me smile when I see what little attention is paid to this pressing question of WATER and other environmental issues.

The pursuit of monetary gain is the very cause of the problem. People need to be educated into understanding that PRIORITIES must be reordered if progress is to be made in this direction.

When everyone agrees on the need for nothing but environmentally-friendly activities, the problem will be solved independently of the money available to anyone.

This planet existed perfectly happily for a long time before the invention of money.

Thank you for your continuing determination to make people aware of the truth.

Best Wishes.

The Trustees of WoW have just been given the opportunity to add a Financial profile to the new Charity Commission supported site called www.guidestar.org.uk

For me, personally, I feel that a ‘charity’ should give help and to really help, it needs to give time and effort.

I duly wrote a WoW-style Financial Profile and uploaded it to the Guide Star Site thinking that their webmaster would remove it for breaking the rules of “Conformity”. I haven’t checked to see if it’s still there.

For those who can’t wait to read the profile, here it is:
___________
WoW Financial profile
Introduction :
……………….
We are a Registered Charity and each time we receive a donation, it helps us to promote our message further afield into the hearts of more and more people across the World. Whilst we do not jangle collecting tins in the street, we do have a verified paypal account (Click button and bottom of our Donations Page)

We also need you to donate your “caring” – a priceless gift that will not show up on a balance sheet but will help to keep the World in balance.

We need you to donate your “support” and there are lots of ways you can help. We need the support of everyone from the business ‘gurus’ in London to the villagers on the poverty line along the banks of the River Ganges. It will take the support of everyone, to bring about the sea change required to keep this planet fit for purpose – sustaining quality life.

MONEY donations to our Charity
If you wish to support us in the future, send a promissory note or email to us at World of Water, stating how much money you would like to donate. We will hold your note and work with you to discover the sort of projects you will ENJOY supporting. For us, it is so very important that people see and experience direct results from their donations and do not “donate to a growing pot of general funds”.

There was a song that went …. “Money makes the World go around” – at World of Water we know that the energy comes from a stronger spirit and it is THIS spirit we all need to invest in, to maintain perpetual long-term sustainable growth.

There is no doubt that money oils much of the 21st Century workings. There is no doubt that money has flowed to built that which we see around the World’s power houses today, including the fine web site at Guide Star, but the guiding star we are following is the one that helps ALL lifeforms for we realise that money alone will not come up with all the required cache.

Thank you for your support, at all times.

A good Friend of mine, Nalini in India, brought to my attention the following:

LETTER WRITTEN IN THE YEAR 2070.

[The letter was published in the magazine "Crónicas de los Tiempos“, in April 2002]

This is the year 2070
I have just turned 50,
but I look and feel 85.
I suffer from serious kidney problems, because I do not drink enough water.
I’m afraid I do not have much time left to live.
I am one of the oldest people in this society.
I remember when I was a child of 5.
Everything was very different.
There were lots of trees in the parks, houses with beautiful gardens,
and I could enjoy having a shower for half an hour.
Nowadays we use towels with mineral oil to clean our skin.

Before, women had beautiful hair.

Now, we have to shave our heads to keep them clean without the use of water.

Then, my father washed his car with water
coming out of a hosepipe.
Now, my son does not believe that water could be wasted that way.

I remember there were
SAVE WATER
warnings on outdoor posters, radio
and TV, but nobody paid attention.
We thought that water was to last forever.
Now, all the rivers, lakes,
dams and underground water beds
are either dry or contaminated.

Industry came to a standstill, unemployment is sky high.
Desalination plants are the main source of employment
and workers receive part of their salary in drinkable water.

Assaults on the streets for a can of water are very common.

Before, it was recommended an adult drinks 8 glasses a day.
Nowadays, I am only allowed half a glass.

We now have to wear disposable clothing,
and this increases the amount of litter.
We are using septic tanks, because the sewerage system does not work for lack of water.
All the people look horrible: wrinkled due to dehydration, full of sores caused by ultra violet radiation, as the ozone layer is almost gone.

Skin cancer, gastrointestinal infections and of the urinary tracts are the main causes of death.
Due to the excessive drying of the skin young people of 20 look like 40.
Scientists have no solution to the problem.
Water cannot be produced, oxygen is not sufficient due to the lack of trees and vegetation, and the intellectual capacity of the younger generations is severely impaired.
The morphology of spermatozoa in many men has changed.
As a consequence, babies are born with deficiencies, mutations and physical deformities.

The average life expectancy is 35 years.
Water became a very coveted treasure.

Any green zones crossed by rivers are guarded by armed soldiers.
Where I live, there are no trees, because it seldom rains. If it does, it is acid rain.
We were warned to look after the environment, but nobody cared.
I tell my son about the green fields,
the beautiful flowers, the rain, how we swam and fish in the rivers and dams, drinking all the water we could, and how healthy people were.
He asks:
Daddy! Why there is no water?
Was I guilty ?
My generation destroyed the environment. We did not heed the warning signs.
Now our children pay a very high price!
Soon, I think, life on earth will not be possible,
as the destruction of nature has reached an irreversible stage.
How I would like to go back and make mankind understand…

……….that we still had time to save our Planet Earth.

*All such words need to spread globally. Words must be backed up by actions.

The World of Water Charity needs a lot more practical support so if you can help in any way, contact us.

Let’s get together fast to make sure the letter above is NEVER written :

Please think of Waterlife and your Water use everyday.

Hello again gentlemen.

General standards of literacy are very low in the U.K. and people do not read or write as often as they might. Do you not think that our work would be a lot easier in many respects if THAT problem were also seriously tackled at the same time? Simple education paves the way for a wider knowledge of all aspects of life (perhaps), so people’s behaviour might alter drastically if they educated themselves a little through reading.

Perhaps you could publish some SIMPLE books on the subject of WATER, so that the public might also practise reading from them.

There again, perhaps you couldn’t. Please let us know. The suspense is killing me.

Best Wishes.

REPLY TO JAN AND GRANT

Hello Jan, Grant and friends.

As we are all in favour of “good water for all”, perhaps you would like to give us your ideas on strategies which you think would lead to such a situation. Given that everyone in the world must surely be in favour of ALL action in this direction, how should we actually go about solving the problem on a world scale, even if we DO have the technology and the resources?

If we do NOT have them, how can we combine our ideas to overcome that aspect of the problem?

By combining our ideas here in this Forum, we can generate more useful debate on the subject of water and we can actually do something about improving its quality on a worldwide scale. As soon as we agree on a strategy, we can get on with the work, perhaps. What has prevented this from happening up until now?

I find your interest very encouraging. This topic should be high on the world’s agenda.

Drop by drop is the only way to educate a World that has been influenced, drop by drop, by too many ‘off track’ messages.

We are no longer ignorant of the harm we are doing to the environment.

Evidence exists everywhere to show where we are developing in an uncaring manner. People like Jan de Koning and Dr. Ed Ramsey (See below) are working to solve problems but we must all work to solve global problems, together.

I am a great devotee of ‘people power’ but all the people of the world need to work as ‘one’ on common interests. CLEAN WATER is a common interest as the world shares the very same water supply.

There is no plug at the bottom of the Sea to let out the dirty water, yet every day we wash muck off our lands into our shared sea.

There’s no new supply of ‘fresh clean water’ being delivered to planet Earth – we have to keep that which we have, “clean”.

Marketing is always a “drip feed” process. Drop by drop the message gets around and those inventions that need to surface, will do.

Networking is always the best way of marketing, and often the most unexpected results can come from contacting strangers and making them friends.

You could say hello to Dr. Ed Ramsey of ‘Critical Solutions Technology Ltd. (CST) for his company is in the process of making many ripples around the World thanks to his device that detects potentially harmful pollutants in the World’s Water Supply.

His web site is: www.critsoltech.com

I Chair the Reg. UK Charity, “World of Water” (No. 327188) always promoting individuals, companies and organisations to KEEP WATER CLEAN.

All work to clean-up water is vital. We also need to adapt to better water-saving lifestyles and there are many manufacturing processes that need improving so that they do not produce pollutants.

The work needs to be done.

Water must remain clean to provide a habitat for water-life.

Folks thanks for all the reactions.
About the impurities in water in general.
We developed indeed a system to clean industrial wastewater without adding additional chemicals !.
This very simple and effective technology meets a lot of resistance from powerfull organisations and nobody can expect from us that we fight the world.
So we have to stick to our re-invented solar still and that in itself is already difficult enough to get on the market.

True John. There’s plenty of water about.

A lot of this water is made un-useable and un-drinkable.

“Water water everywhere but none of it I’d drink” This surreal concept of low quality and high quantity is becoming all too common. Most pollution takes place with the blessing of Companies and their shareholders for it would be a drain on profits to spend on the needed “clean-up” processes.

We all contribute to the problem, most, unknowingly. Those that willfully pollute, break the laws in many Countries but such criminals have to be caught early and by ‘early’, I mean during their school years.

Education is the key. We need to teach all to understand that “caring” is not an option, it is a requirement.

The topic of Water is the world’s largest one that cannot be swept under the carpet and needs to be tackled in a holistic, world-agreeing’ manner as we all share the same supply. It may be the first single topic that brings the world’s countries into an agreement that is logical to keep thus illogical and unlikely to be broken.

No country is ‘thick’. Only a Country that aims for short term gain at the expense of the environment would pollute. The products from such a Country could be blocked from trade if the World Community was strong enough to act-as-one over an issue so vital as this clean Water one.

It seems to me that the problem can be solved in one way only, and that is for humans to stop polluting water in the first place.

Only then can we go forward to the matter of supplying it to every living being that needs it. That seems actually to be the less difficult part of the problem to solve.

Let us have more ideas please.

Best Wishes,

And, Jan de Koning, if you can invent ways to stop impurities entering natural (clean) water supplies, this would be most welcome as the REAL Solutions needed for the planet are holistic ones.

It is wonderful to produce drinkable water for human consumption – it is magical to ensure the water environment is in a fully usable state for the entire water life of this Planet.

How many of us give ‘Water’ a second thought let alone a first one?

The very liquid that allows us to live on this ‘Blue Planet’ is being ignored by too many of us. Those polluting it go one foul stage further – they dump on the future.

Today is ‘World Water Day’ (a UNESCO initiative – part of their “Water for Life” decade”) So today, many will talk about Water Privatisation as if such a vital part of this shared Planet can be in any form deemed as fully ‘Private’.

Today, those seeking to earn profit from Water will be manipulating populations, negotiating deals, signing water ‘rights’ and generally trying to work out ways to hold dominion over ‘Water’.

Tomorrow, those same people may be looking towards ‘air’ as their next profit centre.

Thankfully, water, and air, do not take too kindly to being ruled over in a physical manner but if we allow rule makers to allow the total bottling of the water cycle for example, who would spend their personal money buying it for the good of the Planet’s wildlife?

We all depend upon Water. We all depend upon Clean Water. Mankind has chosen to divide up land and trade in it, but water it harder to divide .. harder to contain in one place … harder to file away and possess.

The single most wonderful thing about water is that it is something we all share. The very same water is used by all life.

With a lot of co-operation (what’s that!), Water Issues could be used to bring a great unity of purpose to the people of this Planet.

Regardless of whether disparate ‘Countries’ wish to agree on all issues, there is one issue that we all need to agree upon. The World biomass (yup … that’s you, your pot plant and your kids goldfish too) needs the water of the World to be CLEAN.

No CLEAN Water – No LIFE!

Let those who wish to quibble over water as a commodity, drown themselves in countless agreements, as is the nature of business nowadays, but, let them NEVER be allowed to damage and ultimately destroy the very purity of water that makes this the ‘Blue Planet’ and the only home in the Galaxy we all have to live upon no matter what our race, creed, gender or politics.

Globally, we must all work to ensure a healthy future on a clean planet. There will probably always be some amongst us that wish to court conflict, but we must all seek out those with a conflict of interest over clean water – those keen to allow pollution – those happy to see destruction of habitats – those content to ignore the damage they do – those without love for tomorrow – those without care for the well being of Mother Earth.

It is a sad day when others trade tomorrow’s opportunities for today’s lucre.
It is a mad day if visionaries sit back and allow others to do this unchallenged.
It might be fatal if Rome burns a second time as we dance to the fiddle music”

A BIG Chile business development to get hold of more GOLD and SILVER

Hello all those interested in the Business of Gold and Silver.

Before you buy Gold or Silver, please read this. If you have a moment, copy and paste it to your friends around the World.

It’s well worth reading and it is worth taking ACTION ..if we don’t try and help others, then what happens when it’s our turn?

Who cares about this PLANET EARTH?

In the Valle de San Felix, the purest water in Chile runs from 2 rivers, fed by 2 glaciers.

Indigenous farmers use the water, there is no unemployment, and they provide the
second largest source of income for the area.

Under the glaciers has been found a huge deposit of gold, silver and other minerals. To get at these, it would be necessary to break and destroy the glaciers – something never conceived before in the history of the world – and to make 2 huge holes, each as big as a whole mountain, one for extraction and one for the mine’s rubbish tip.

The project is called PASCUA LAMA. The company is called Barrick Gold. The operation is planned by a multi-national company, one of whose members is George Bush Senior.

The Chilean Government has approved the project to start this year, 2006. The only reason it hasn’t started yet is because the farmers have got a temporary stay of execution. If they destroy the glaciers, they will not just destroy the source of specially pure water, but they will permanently contaminate the two rivers so they will never again be fit for human or animal consumption because of the use of cyanide and sulphuric acid in the extraction process.

Every last gram of gold will go abroad to the multinational company and not one will be
left with the people whose land it is. They will only be left with the poisoned water and the resulting illnesses.

The farmers have been fighting a long time for their land, but have been forbidden to make a TV appeal by a ban from the Ministry of the Interior.

Their only hope now of putting brakes on this project is to get help from international justice.

The world must know what is happening in Chile.

The only place to start changing the world is from here.

I ask you to circulate this message amongst your friends and send it to everyone in your address book.

Well that’s the easy part of the equation. If I asked you ‘not’ to spend your time and effort buying gold or silver and creating a ‘market’ for these Earth minerals, could you do it? Could you do it for the sake of tomorrow’s children or do you think they would just ‘rape’ all the Planet’s resources dry if your generation doesn’t?

LOGICAL NOTE:

The Chilean Government probably wants to invest in a bigger concrete Jungle with more hotels, casinos and housing. Once the land is covered with human dwellings we’ll build floating cities next - covering the oceans with yet another human crust development and pollution.

If you say NO to Pascua Lama Open-cast mine in the Andean Cordillera on the Chilean-Argentine frontier, then please say NO to other Water and community abusing ways around the World. including those on your own doorstep.

Please ask the Chilean Government not to authorize the Pascua Lama project thus protect the glaciers, the purity of the water of the San Felix Valley and El Transito, the quality of the agricultural land of the region of Atacama, the quality of life of the Diaguita people and of the whole population of the region.

If enough people show their wishes in this way, through “People Power” we can keep the Planet in Balance forever …. well, for another 400 Billion years when we will have to find another Planet to care for (or abuse?)

Gold?
Silver?
………… or Clean Water Environments full of a Natural wealth that is Priceless?

You decide!

Best Wishes World,

<*))))))><
