Is it a Bush? Is it a Tree? No, it's SPIDER PLANT

Is it a Bush? Is it a Tree? No, it's SPIDER PLANT

It's taken us an age to realise that we were treating the spider plants too kindly. Now that we are ignoring them for long periods and leaving them pot-bound, they are producing the 'cascades' of offspring so characteristic of the species.

I've read that 'hard times' can bring out the best in people and that a stressed-out plant will often flower but it seems a cruel plan to evoke stress in order to force blossomings.

And in a few years time …. you guessed, the neighbours will be referring to us as the Spider Plant Nursery as they overtake the HoBB. I'll be snipping them off, potting them on and depositing them on a fund-raising stall at some Women's Institute Market with a warning label on each one of them reading "Don't ignore these and keep them happy at ALL times"
